IVANS Celebrates 25 Years with an Optimistic Eye Toward the Future
February 13, 2006 - Stamford, Conn. - June Drewry, Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President of Chubb & Sons; Curt Overpeck, Senior Vice President of Information Technology of Citizens Property Insurance Corporation; Barrie Parker, Chief Information Officer of Louisiana Workers Compensation Corp; and David Taylor, Chief Technology Officer of The Combined Group, are part of a CIO panel that will present “Staying Ahead of the Curve” during IVANS 15th Annual XChange Conference, February 28 thru March 2, 2007 at the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay in Tampa, Florida. This distinguished group of technology executives will tackle such issues as aligning information technology and business strategies, managing security and data privacy issues, and attracting and retaining IT talent.
Keynote speakers for the IVANS 2007 XChange Conference are Dr. James Valverde Jr., Vice President of Economics and Risk Management at the Insurance Information Institute, who will provide a ten-year outlook on the P&C industry while, Tim Pauza, Manager in the Insurance and Actuarial Advisory Services practice of Ernst & Young, will address IT/actuarial alignment and the typical challenges that IT departments face with actuarial departments, especially the financial reporting function.
A Forrester study indicates 87% of senior insurance executives say IT supports their business by lowering operating costs and improving productivity. An industry not known as an early adopter of information technology, carriers are now pouring money into Web services, wireless communications, real-time applications and other technologies to accelerate communication with their agents. Companies suddenly are seeing firsthand how technology is revolutionizing the carrier/agent relationship and, as the marketplace becomes increasingly competitive, that technology needs to be fast, accurate and secure.
The P&C industry’s embracement of IT could not have come at a better time as IVANS prepares to celebrate its 25th Anniversary at the 2007 XChange Conference. Networking technology has changed dramatically over the last 25 years and, when combined with such issues as pandemics, terrorism, cyber crime, and natural disasters, staying ahead of the curve is more critical than ever.
“Companies require powerful connectivity solutions and strategic applications that can complement a forward thinking logistics and solid technology plan,” said Clare DeNicola, President and CEO of IVANS Inc. “IVANS has been a networking technology and EDI partner for the P&C industry from day one, and we’ve never been more optimistic about the future. Our unmatched leadership in such services as project management, technical/helpdesk support, direct billing and reporting—to helping our customers solve today’s complex business issues though technology—it’s been a rewarding journey. And the best is yet to come.”
