Small Business Expert Jeff Zbar to Showcase The Ultimate In Products and Solutions for Small Business Customers On The Road
Delray Beach, Fla., July 7, 2008—Office Depot (NYSE:ODP), a leading global provider of office products and services, has partnered with small business advocate and Chief Home Officer Jeff Zbar to take the office on the road this summer during the Home Office Highway Tour. The summer road show will showcase how personal electronics and small business technology can empower the home office lifestyle from within a recreational vehicle.
Zbar, a widely published technology columnist and author, will reveal how “connected” a family can be when traveling the nation’s highways for three weeks. Zbar and family will live aboard an Internet-connected, teched-out, 23-foot recreational vehicle (RV), complete with a fully-functional home office that will include a computer, printer, wireless Internet, files, storage and more. Zbar will post blogs and webcam videologues throughout his journey, and will also be making appearances at select Office Depot retail locations, and at the Disney Entrepreneurial Institute in Orlando, FL, along the way.
“Office Depot is a natural partner for the Home Office Highway Tour,” said Jeff Zbar, the tour’s creator and host. “Millions of people use the same technology, supplies and accessories in their home offices. They should feel comfortable and confident using these products in a mobile office as well, and we’ll show them how.”
Zbar provides the following tips for Home Office Road Warriors:
• Select the Right Gear for Your Needs: The Foray Mobile Workmate ($99.99) is a complete portable and wheeled office. In this “office in a box,” my 15-inch laptop, peripherals, and folders all have a home. Pens and supplies are neatly stashed and quickly accessed, and the retractable handle makes portability a breeze.
• Connecting the Technology: My home office has a six-port USB hub for my phone, camera, flash drive, speakers and more. The Ativa USB Hub turns one USB port into several – ideal for connecting accessories on the go. The Ativa Burrito Cable Management System is an innovative solution that helps organize workspaces by harnessing and shortening excess cable length. The Ativa “Burrito” can be used for both computer peripherals and electronic devices. Equipped with two suction cups, a magnet, and a Velcro strip, the Ativa Burrito securely holds loose cables against any surface, including wood, metal, plastic and glass.
• Printing on the Go: Need to print important documents while on the road? Just load your documents onto a USB flash drive and have the experts at Office Depot’s Design, Print & Ship Depot print them out for you. You can even upload documents at http://www.officedepot.com, and they will be ready and waiting for you at one of the more than 1,200 Office Depot retail locations throughout the country. Simply upload the materials, select a pick-up location, and you’re all set!
