HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif., March 2008 – Sharp Solar Energy Solutions Group (SESG), the U.S. solar arm of Sharp Corporation, a world leader in solar electric solutions, has appointed Michael Lasky to the position of director of reseller channel sales. In this capacity, Lasky will report directly to Ron Kenedi, vice president of SESG and lead Sharp’s efforts to enhance its reseller channel network of customers.

Lasky brings more than 17 years of experience in the power and power quality industry to his new role in SESG. As director of North American Sales – West at Pentadyne Power Corporation, Lasky was named top salesperson in 2006 for growing Pentadyne’s installation base from zero to more than forty systems in primary target markets including data centers, broadcasting, medical facilities and casinos.
Previously, Lasky was with EaglePicher Corporation as director of North American sales, where he was responsible for six business unit segments within the commercial power division; and Capstone Turbine Corporation, where as director of sales and director of business development he managed the introduction of the Capstone microturbine into the power quality market and grew sales by 35%. Lasky has also held prior positions in sales, business development, product management and engineering at Liebert Corporation and MGE UPS SYSTEMS.
Lasky received a B.S. in electrical engineering from Cal Poly Pomona and an MBA from Pepperdine University.
