About Alex Stanton

Alex Stanton is co-founder and chief executive officer of Stanton Crenshaw Communications, one of the fastest growing public relations firms in America. With more than 20 years experience in public relations, government affairs, marketing services and business development in a variety of industries, Alex has strong expertise in business-to-business and technology PR, financial and corporate communications, and crisis management.

A hands-on manager who spends the majority of his time working directly with clients, Alex offers the combination of corporate/financial knowledge, operational expertise and strategic counsel that many companies need to seize opportunities and compete aggressively in today’s fast-moving business environment.

Employing an aggressive organic growth strategy, Alex helped build the New York firm of Dorf & Stanton Communications into a leading national PR agency that attracted many suitors and was eventually sold to Shandwick, now a unit of the Interpublic Group. Alex left the firm in 1995 to found Stanton Crenshaw Communications with the vision to create a best in class mid-size PR firm. Five years later, Stanton Crenshaw has emerged as a market leader with a dynamic client base and such industry recognitions as “Mid-Size PR Agency of the Year” from PR Week Magazine, and “Best New Agency” from Inside PR.

Alex has developed and managed successful PR and integrated marketing programs that have won more than 20 communications industry awards. Among Alex’s achievements are technology leadership campaigns for Sharp Electronics’ LCD technology and Compaq’s positioning as the most innovative maker of lifestyle-enhancing PCs, and reputation management for Ford Motor Company, Allied Domecq and Monsanto.

Alex has recently directed innovative B2B and corporate/financial communications programs for InterNAP Network Services, Teleglobe, and iXL Enterprises. He also boasts extensive financial services experience, representing such clients as Bessemer Trust, Chase, ebank.com and Bain Capital.

A frequent speaker on business strategy, marketing and communications issues, Alex has served as President of the Public Relations Society of America in New York and is currently a Director of the Young Presidents Organization. He also sits on boards of several technology companies as well as a number of national charitable organizations.
